Menu Item Review: Veggie Combo at Mediterranean Express in Seattle

One of my go-to vegan lunch plates is the Veggie Combo plate at Mediterranean Express in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. While not perfect, it is delicious whether you’re vegan or not plus it is VERY filling and satisfying.

MENU ITEM

Veggie Combo
A plated mix of falafel, grape leaves, zahra, hummus, and baba ghanoush. Served over yellow season rice and topped with garlic and tahini sauce. Comes with a soup or salad and fresh pita bread.

REVIEW

The good: The flavors! The garlic sauce, the hummus seasoning, the falafel crunch, the roasted cauliflower, the tasty rice, and a healthy salad to go with it are all totally on point.

The bad: At $15 total, it is a tad expensive for a recurring lunch. I try keep lunch under $10 but will splurge every once in a while. The only other complaint is sometimes there isn’t enough garlic sauce. But then again, I’ve never tried asking for more so they might be happy to oblige.

OVERALL RATING: 4/5 YUMS
